'The Father's Love' was written for the Melbourne Staff Band's tour of New Zealand, Easter 2004. It is based on the contemporary hymn 'How Deep the Father's Love' by Stuart Townend which tells the story of Christ on the cross and what His sacrifice cost God, The Father, and how a follower of Christ tries to respond to that gift.

'The Father's Love' is published in the American Band Journal (ABJ), Spring 2011 (Edition 66, number 284) and is available to purchase here or from your local Salvation Army music provider. The performance above, is a live recording of the Melbourne Staff Band (Bandmaster Ken Waterworth) during their North American tour of September, 2006.
