Fáilte is the Irish word for welcome. The music was commissioned by Bandmaster John Moore (Belfast Citadel), and was written to mark the commencement of The Salvation Army’s work in Ireland. It features the tune To the Eden Above which is purported to the first song performed by a Salvation Army delegation in the Emerald Isle. The other hymn presented is King of Kings, Majesty which has been a significant song in the life of the Belfast Citadel corps in the more recent past. Fáilte received its premiere at the Belfast Temple Music School Finale in August 2015.
Fáilte is no longer available to purchase on this website. It is now published in the February 2019 edition of the Unity Series (SP&S).
